Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 6–8 years of experience to take a technical leadership role across two critical initiatives: the Manufacturing Execution Platform Modernization project (architectural upgrade of a globally deployed Manufacturing Execution System for global manufacturing client across 11 sites) and the AI workflow automation platform (an AI-enabled digital workflow platform for SAP S/4HANA business process automation). You will own complex technical design decisions, lead implementation efforts, mentor junior developers, and work closely with the US-based architect to shape the overall system architecture.
This role requires deep .NET expertise, strong system design skills, and the ability to operate across the full stack — from database schema design and ORM architecture to API design, frontend architecture, security implementation, and deployment orchestration. You will be a key technical decision-maker as ATPL scales its team and product portfolio.
3. Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
· Own end-to-end technical design for major features and work packages across both manufacturing execution platform and AI workflow automation projects.
· Make architectural decisions on framework upgrades (.NET 8 to .NET 10 LTS), ORM strategy (DevExpress XPO migration), UI framework migration (Windows Forms to Blazor), and messaging architecture (Akka.NET, RabbitMQ).
· Design the AI workflow automation platform architecture — three-layer model (Input/Extraction, Agentic Processing, Exception/Visibility), API gateway, workflow orchestration engine, and SAP integration layer.
· Define coding standards, review guidelines, and technical documentation expectations for the development team.
· Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to ensure quality, security, and maintainability.
Manufacturing Execution Platform Modernization
· Lead the .NET 10.0 (LTS) upgrade across all manufacturing execution APIs and services — manage dependency upgrades (Akka.NET, DevExpress Universal, RabbitMQ client libraries) and ensure backward compatibility across 11 global sites.
· Architect the MongoDB-to-SQL-Server migration — design the data access layer transition from MongoDB to DevExpress XPO (SQL), optimize SQL queries to replace Mongo joins, and ensure zero data loss.
· Lead the database rationalization effort — design the analysis and cleanup approach for ~540 unused tables out of ~680, update DevExpress XAF Admin App model, and manage code cleanup of dead table references.
· Drive the Windows Forms to Blazor migration — design the new Blazor architecture, component structure, and state management approach for the tablet application.
· Plan and orchestrate site-wise deployments across 11 global sites with ~1 hour downtime windows per site, including rollback strategies.
AI Workflow Automation Platform
· Design and build the web platform architecture — omnichannel intake (web portal, email, API, bulk upload), SSO integration (SAML 2.0 / OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect with Microsoft Entra ID), and responsive UI.
· Architect the SAP S/4HANA integration layer — API abstraction for 13+ document types (PR, PO, GRN, Invoice, Sales Order, Billing, etc.), OData/REST consumption, error handling, and retry logic.
· Design the agentic AI processing layer — integration with OCR/IDP services, AI-driven document understanding, SAP posting orchestration, and autonomous error resolution workflows.
· Implement enterprise-grade security — RBAC with segregation of duties, AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.2/1.3 in transit, tamper-proof audit logging, API security (OAuth 2.0, rate limiting, OWASP protection).
· Design for scale and reliability — support ~500 concurrent users, 5,000 transactions/day, 99.9% uptime, HA/DR (active-active/active-passive), 5x future growth capacity.
· Build the reporting and analytics framework — KPI dashboards (STP%, AI Resolution Rate, First-Time-Right%, workflow TAT), drill-down views by Region/BU/Document Type, SLA-based alerting.
Mentoring & Team Development
· Mentor junior and mid-level developers — guide them on .NET best practices, design patterns, testing, and debugging.
· Conduct technical interviews and contribute to hiring decisions as ATPL scales from 4 to 8+ resources.
· Drive knowledge sharing sessions — document architecture decisions, create technical wikis, and onboard new team members.
4. Required Qualifications
Education
· B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience
· 6–8 years of professional software development experience with strong .NET / C# expertise.
· At least 2 years in a senior, lead, or architect-adjacent role with design and mentoring responsibilities.
Technical Skills — Must Have
· Deep C# and .NET expertise (.NET Core / 8.0+) — ASP.NET Core, Web API, middleware, dependency injection, advanced language features, performance profiling.
· Microsoft Blazor — Server and/or WebAssembly, component architecture, state management, JS interop, authentication/authorization in Blazor.
· SQL Server — advanced T-SQL, stored procedure optimization, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, schema design for high-volume transactional systems.
· ORM frameworks — Entity Framework Core and/or DevExpress XPO; LINQ optimization, migration strategies, query performance tuning.
· REST API design — API versioning, authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect), rate limiting, error contracts, Swagger/OpenAPI.
· System design and architecture — layered architecture, microservices vs. monolith trade-offs, event-driven design, CQRS, repository/unit-of-work patterns.
· Git, CI/CD — Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, automated build/test/deploy pipelines, branching strategies.
· Security implementation — RBAC, SSO (SAML 2.0 / OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect), encryption (AES-256, TLS), OWASP Top 10 mitigation, secure coding practices.
Technical Skills — Strong Plus
· DevExpress XPO / XAF — ORM and admin app framework experience (used extensively in manufacturing execution platform).
· Akka.NET — actor model concurrency, message-driven systems, cluster configuration.
· RabbitMQ — message broker configuration, dead-letter queues, guaranteed delivery patterns.
· SAP S/4HANA integration — OData services, BAPI/RFC, SAP API Business Hub, IDoc processing.
· AI/ML integration — OCR/IDP services (Azure Document Intelligence, Textract, or similar), LLM API integration, agentic workflow design.
· Azure cloud architecture — App Service, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus, Application Insights, Key Vault, Azure AD/Entra ID.
· Windows Forms — deep understanding for leading the legacy-to-Blazor migration.
· High availability / disaster recovery design — active-active, active-passive, RPO/RTO planning.
· Observability — structured logging, distributed tracing, health checks, alerting (Application Insights, Serilog, or equivalent).
