Job Description
Ocean One Ship Management is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support strategic and operational functions across the organization. This is a leadership role suited to candidates with strong general management, operations, or business administration experience. Candidates from the shipping/maritime industry are welcome to apply; however, prior industry experience is an advantage, not a mandatory requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the GM/senior leadership in day-to-day operations and strategic planning
- Oversee departmental performance, ensuring alignment with company goals and KPIs
- Manage cross-functional coordination between departments (operations, HR, finance, compliance)
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
- Prepare reports, MIS, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders
- Assist in budgeting, resource planning, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies
- Manage vendor/client relationships as required
- Lead and mentor teams to build a high-performing work culture
Requirements
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in a managerial or leadership role
- Prior experience in the ship management/maritime/shipping industry is an advantage
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven track record in operations management and process optimization
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant management tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
