Job Summary
The Senior Academic Counsellor is responsible for guiding prospective students in selecting suitable courses based on their educational background, career goals, interests, and future opportunities. The role includes student counselling, admission conversion, follow-up of enquiries, achievement of admission targets, and maintaining strong relationships with students and parents.
Key Responsibilities1. Student Counselling
- Counsel prospective students and parents regarding available courses, career opportunities, course duration, fees, and eligibility criteria.
- Understand students' educational backgrounds, interests, and career objectives.
- Recommend suitable courses and career pathways.
- Provide accurate and complete information about academic programs and institutional facilities.
2. Admission & Enrolment
- Convert enquiries into admissions through effective counselling and follow-up.
- Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual admission targets.
- Guide students through the complete admission and documentation process.
- Ensure all admission forms and supporting documents are properly completed.
3. Enquiry Follow-Up
- Make regular follow-up calls to prospective students and parents.
- Maintain and update enquiry records in the CRM/ERP system.
- Ensure timely follow-up of fresh, warm, and pending leads.
- Track counselling status and admission conversion ratios.
4. Team Leadership
- Guide and support Junior Academic Counsellors and Telecallers.
- Monitor the quality of counselling and follow-up activities.
- Assist team members in handling difficult or important student counselling cases.
- Provide training and motivation to improve the team's admission performance.
5. Student & Parent Relationship Management
- Maintain professional relationships with students and parents.
- Address admission-related queries and concerns promptly.
- Ensure a positive counselling experience for every prospective student.
- Build trust and confidence in the institution and its programs.
6. Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly counselling and admission reports.
- Report enquiry, admission, collection, and conversion performance to management.
- Coordinate with the Marketing, Academic, Accounts, and Placement Departments.
- Participate in admission campaigns, seminars, education fairs, and promotional activities.
7. Target Achievement
- Take ownership of individual and team admission targets.
- Develop strategies to improve enquiry-to-admission conversion.
- Identify pending and potential admission opportunities.
- Work closely with the Centre Head to achieve overall business and admission objectives.

Educational Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline.
- A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Academic Counselling, Admissions, Education Sales, or Student Relationship Management.
- Previous experience in a senior counselling or team-handling role will be preferred.

Working Expectations
The Senior Academic Counsellor is expected to demonstrate strong leadership, professional communication, excellent counselling skills, and a target-oriented approach while maintaining the highest standards of student service and institutional representation.
Pay: ₹12,412.58 - ₹18,535.06 per month
