Job Summary
TRAX Diagnostics is looking for a skilled and patient-focused Phlebotomist to join our team in Hyderabad. The candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples, ensuring accurate specimen labeling and documentation, and following all safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent patient-handling skills.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture, finger-prick, and other approved methods.
- Verify patient identity and correctly label all collected specimens.
- Maintain accurate records of sample collection and patient details.
- Handle, store, and transport specimens according to laboratory SOPs.
- Follow infection control, hygiene, and biomedical waste disposal procedures.
- Explain the sample collection procedure and reassure patients when required.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during or after blood collection.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the sample collection area.
- Coordinate with laboratory staff for timely sample processing.
- Ensure proper handling and safe usage of needles, tubes, and other collection materials.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in DMLT, MLT, or a related field is mandatory.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience as a Phlebotomist.
- Good knowledge of blood collection and specimen handling procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle patients with care and professionalism.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a diagnostic laboratory, hospital, or healthcare centre.
- Knowledge of quality control and laboratory compliance standards.
- Ability to handle patients of different age groups confidently.
