Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Civil Maintenance & Structural Integrity
- Supervise daily civil maintenance activities across the plant, including production blocks, warehouses, administrative buildings, and utility areas.
- Manage cleanroom modifications, epoxy flooring, anti-corrosive coatings, and waterproofing works essential for pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Ensure the structural integrity of specialized plant areas like the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), MEE, hazardous waste storage, and solvent tank farms.
- Promptly identify and rectify structural cracks, leakages, and chemical corrosion in RCC structures.
2. Project Execution & Capital Expenditure (CAPEX)
- Oversee the execution of new civil construction, structural fabrication, and structural modifications as per approved architectural and structural drawings.
- Monitor daily project progress against timelines, ensuring resources are optimally utilized.
- Verify and certify contractor measurements, bills (R.A. bills), and final invoices against actual work executed at the site.
3. Estimation, Costing & Vendor Management
- Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimations, and rate analysis for various civil and structural fabrication jobs.
- Evaluate vendor quotes, coordinate with the project purchase team, and assist in technical discussions for contract finalization.
- Supervise external contractors and contractual labor, ensuring quality construction materials are used as per Indian Standards (IS codes).
4. Safety, Compliance & Documentation
- Enforce strict industrial safety protocols (Permit to Work, Height Work Permit, Confined Space Entry) for all civil activities on-site.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including measurement sheets, material test reports, structural stability certificates, and daily progress reports (DPR).
- Coordinate civil works smoothly around running production plants to ensure zero downtime or safety hazards to ongoing chemical operations
