Job Description
Sai Graphite Electrodes is looking for an experienced and skilled VMC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The candidate will be responsible for creating efficient VMC programs for graphite electrode machining, optimizing machining processes, and ensuring high-quality production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize programs for VMC machines.
- Prepare machining strategies for Graphite Electrodes based on customer drawings and CAD data.
- Create and modify tool paths using PowerMill software.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per customer requirements.
- Coordinate with the Design, Quality, and Production teams for smooth execution of jobs.
- Reduce cycle time and improve machining efficiency.
- Conduct program prove-out and troubleshoot machining issues.
- Maintain program records and machining documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in CNC/VMC Programming.
- Strong knowledge of Graphite Electrode Manufacturing and Machining.
- Proficiency in PowerMill Software for toolpath generation and programming.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and reading engineering drawings.
- Experience in 3-axis and 4-axis VMC programming.
- Understanding of Graphite grades, machining characteristics, and EDM electrode requirements.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, tool selection, and machining optimization.
- Ability to independently handle programming and process planning.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in EDM Electrode Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of CMM inspection and quality standards.
- Familiarity with HASS controlled VMC machines.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
