## **Cinema Projectionist (1–2 Years Experience) – Job Description** **Job Title:** Cinema Projectionist **Experience:** 1–2 Years **Location:** As per Company Requirement **Industry:** Multiplex / Cinema / Entertainment ### **Job Summary** The Cinema Projectionist is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining digital cinema projection and audio systems to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality movie presentations. The role includes managing movie playlists, performing equipment checks, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with cinema standards and safety procedures. ### **Roles & Responsibilities** * Operate digital cinema projection systems and servers for scheduled movie screenings. * Create, edit, and verify movie playlists (SPLs) before each show. * Ingest and manage Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) and Key Delivery Messages (KDMs). * Ensure movies start and end on time according to the daily schedule. * Monitor picture quality, sound quality, subtitles, and aspect ratio during screenings. * Perform pre-show checks to ensure projection, audio, and automation systems are functioning properly. * Troubleshoot projection, audio, and server issues to minimize show interruptions. * Maintain projectors, servers, lenses, sound processors, and related equipment. * Clean projector filters, lenses, and equipment as per the preventive maintenance schedule. * Coordinate with the Operations and Technical teams to resolve technical issues promptly. * Maintain projection logs, maintenance records, and equipment checklists. * Ensure compliance with company SOPs and cinema presentation standards. * Handle emergency situations calmly and restore operations with minimal downtime. * Monitor UPS, power backup systems, and projector cooling systems. * Report equipment faults and maintenance requirements to the Technical Manager. * Assist in software updates, system calibration, and technical audits. * Ensure all projection equipment is operated safely and securely. * Support special screenings, private events, and promotional shows when required. * Follow workplace safety, fire safety, and emergency evacuation procedures. * Work in rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays. ### **Required Skills** * Knowledge of Digital Cinema Projection (DCP) systems and KDM management. * Familiarity with cinema servers (Dolby, GDC, Christie, Barco, NEC, etc.). * Basic understanding of audio systems, amplifiers, and surround sound. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Basic electrical and networking knowledge. * Ability to work under pressure and handle technical emergencies. * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Attention to detail and commitment to presentation quality. ### **Qualifications** * Diploma/ITI/Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Multimedia, or a related field (preferred). * **1–2 years of experience** as a Cinema Projectionist or in a similar technical role in a multiplex or cinema. * Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays. ### **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)** * On-time show execution. * Zero or minimal technical interruptions during screenings. * High-quality picture and sound presentation. * Preventive maintenance completed as scheduled. * Compliance with safety and operational standards. * Accurate maintenance and projection records. * Quick resolution of technical issues and minimal downtime.
