Design Engineer – Industrial Automation
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer for our Industrial Automation division. The candidate will be responsible for designing automation systems, machine layouts, mechanical assemblies, and supporting project execution activities. The role requires strong technical knowledge in industrial automation equipment, manufacturing processes, and engineering design standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Mechanical & Automation Design
- Design automation systems, special purpose machines (SPM), fixtures, conveyors, and robotic integration systems.
- Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
- Develop assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and detailed engineering documentation.
- Ensure designs meet customer specifications and industrial standards.
2. Project Engineering Support
- Coordinate with project, electrical, and programming teams for smooth project execution.
- Support installation and commissioning activities when required.
- Assist in technical discussions with customers and vendors.
3. Product Development & Improvement
- Develop innovative design concepts for automation solutions.
- Improve existing machine designs for better performance, safety, and cost optimization.
- Conduct design validation and troubleshooting activities.
4. Procurement & Vendor Coordination
- Support procurement team with technical specifications and vendor clarifications.
- Coordinate with fabrication and machining vendors during manufacturing stages.
- Verify material and component suitability for project requirements.
5. Documentation & Quality Compliance
- Maintain proper design records and revision control.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and company guidelines.
- Prepare technical manuals and support documents.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Industrial Automation systems and machine design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD software.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, sensors, and motion systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Educational Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Industrial Automation, SPM, or machine design.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
