Factory Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the Role
Lagom Food Labs is looking for an experienced, hands-on Factory Manager to take complete ownership of our manufacturing facility. This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring the factory operates efficiently, safely, and consistently every single day.
The Factory Manager will oversee end-to-end factory operations, including production, quality, inventory coordination, maintenance, manpower, safety, dispatch readiness, and operational excellence. This individual will lead from the shop floor, make timely decisions, resolve operational challenges, and ensure all departments work together seamlessly to achieve production and business goals.
This is a core leadership position reporting directly to the Founder.
Key ResponsibilitiesOverall Factory Operations
- Take complete ownership of the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility.
- Ensure smooth execution of all production activities from shift start to completion.
- Drive daily operational planning and execution to achieve production, quality, and dispatch targets.
- Ensure uninterrupted factory operations through proactive planning and execution.
Production Management
- Plan, monitor and execute daily production schedules.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of manpower, machinery and materials.
- Monitor production efficiency, productivity and output.
- Minimise downtime, wastage and operational losses.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage the production team and shop floor workforce.
- Coordinate closely with the Inventory Manager, Quality Control Officer and Supply Chain Manager to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct daily production meetings and allocate responsibilities.
- Build a culture of accountability, discipline and continuous improvement.
Operational Problem Solving
- Act as the primary decision-maker for all operational issues on the shop floor.
- Resolve production bottlenecks, manpower issues, machine breakdowns, material shortages and process disruptions with urgency.
- Ensure operational challenges are addressed promptly to minimise production losses.
- Escalate only strategic or business-critical matters requiring management intervention.
Inventory & Supply Coordination
- Work closely with the Inventory Manager to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure production aligns with procurement and dispatch schedules.
- Prevent stock-outs and production delays through effective planning.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with GMP, food safety standards and internal quality systems.
- Work with the Quality Control team to maintain product quality and process consistency.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions for quality deviations.
Maintenance & Infrastructure
- Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Maintain overall factory infrastructure to support efficient operations.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised manufacturing environment.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and statutory requirements.
- Promote good housekeeping practices across the facility.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and operational performance.
- Implement systems and processes that improve scalability and reduce operational costs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the factory.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational reports.
- Monitor key performance indicators including productivity, wastage, downtime, labour efficiency and production adherence.
- Provide regular updates to the Founder on factory performance, operational risks and improvement initiatives.

- Proficiency in ERP systems (Odoo experience preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in factory or manufacturing operations.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing end-to-end factory operations.
- Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, packaged foods, dry fruits, snacks, spices or related industries is highly preferred.
- Experience managing production teams and blue-collar workforce in a manufacturing setup.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Food Technology or related field).
- MBA in Operations or Supply Chain will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
