The Senior IT Logistics & Procurement Specialist sits within Fleet IT's IT Operations & Supply Chain function and operates in close partnership with Anglo-Eastern's Head of Procurement in Hong Kong. The role owns the operational management of Fleet IT vendors and supply chain activities, covering procurement, logistics, and inventory control for IT hardware and software across 600+ managed vessels worldwide. The position requires a self-starter with strong data and process discipline who is comfortable leveraging ERP systems, dashboards, and AI/digital tools to work smarter. As the function matures, the role is expected to build and lead a small team of 1-2 analysts.
ROLES ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead day-to-day Fleet IT procurement and vendor operations, raising and tracking purchase orders and ensuring IT hardware, software licences and consumables are procured on time and within budget.
- Own and manage global Fleet IT vendor relationships, coordinating quotations, monitoring performance against agreed SLAs, and escalating underperformance to the IT Manager with clear evidence.
- Coordinate end-to-end IT logistics and delivery, including shipping documentation, customs clearance, port agent liaison, and maintenance of a real-time logistics tracker for all open shipments.
- Maintain IT stock and inventory records across central warehouses and regional hubs, conducting periodic reconciliations and ensuring minimum stock levels for critical equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive IT procurement, logistics and inventory records across all 600+ vessels, preparing weekly and monthly reports for management review and audit.
- Support the IT Manager in tracking the IT procurement budget across the fleet, benchmarking vendor pricing, and maintaining CAPEX/OPEX records by vessel, owner and cost centre.
- Ensure procurement and logistics activities comply with Anglo-Eastern's IT procurement policy and financial controls, maintaining accurate SOPs and full purchase traceability.
- Support onboarding of new Fleet IT vendors in line with Anglo-Eastern's approved vendor framework and commercial standards.
- Lead and develop 1-2 analyst roles as the function matures, setting the tone for how the team works and creating an environment of clear priorities and high standards.
Requirements
KEY SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:
Technical skills
- Strong knowledge of IT hardware (workstations, servers, switches, access points, networking equipment) with the ability to interpret specifications and compare vendor quotations
- Hands-on experience with ERP, procurement or asset management platforms (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Jibe, NetSuite or similar)
- Working knowledge of international shipping, customs documentation, freight terms (Incoterms) and port logistics
Professional skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong commercial negotiation ability; comfortable presenting procurement and vendor performance reviews to senior management
Analytical, process-driven and data-led approach, with a proactive mindset toward process improvement, cost optimisation and vendor accountability
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- 5+ years of experience in IT procurement, global supply chain, logistics or vendor management; maritime, shipping or managed services background preferred; proven track record independently managing high-volume global IT procurement operations
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, IT, Business Administration or a related field (Master's degree an advantage)
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Level 4 or above preferred
- ITIL Foundation (IT Service Management awareness) preferred
- ERP/Procurement certification – SAP MM, Oracle Procurement, NetSuite or equivalent (hands-on experience preferred)
