Role Overview
We are looking for motivated Cybersecurity Interns to support our cybersecurity team and gain practical exposure to security assessment, vulnerability management, security research, and cybersecurity best practices.
Interns will work under appropriate guidance on assigned cybersecurity tasks and learn how security professionals identify, assess, document, and help address security risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with vulnerability assessment and security testing activities.
- Support the team in identifying and documenting security vulnerabilities.
- Perform basic security research on applications, systems, and emerging threats.
- Assist with VAPT-related activities under supervision.
- Conduct information gathering and security research using authorized sources and tools.
- Help analyze security findings and prepare technical documentation.
- Assist in preparing vulnerability assessment and security audit reports.
- Research common vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and security controls.
- Support security monitoring and basic incident analysis activities when required.
- Assist with security configuration reviews and basic security checks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assigned tasks and findings.
- Follow authorized testing procedures and responsible security practices.
- Collaborate with team members on cybersecurity projects.
Daily Activities
- Research assigned cybersecurity topics and vulnerabilities.
- Perform authorized security testing tasks under supervision.
- Analyze and document identified findings.
- Review security tools and their outputs.
- Prepare notes and technical documentation.
- Track assigned tasks and provide regular progress updates.
- Participate in team discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Skills Required
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and common network protocols.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with common web application security concepts.
- Understanding of common vulnerabilities and security risks.
- Basic knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 is preferred.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good research and documentation skills.
- Willingness to learn cybersecurity tools and techniques.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of any of the following will be an advantage:
- Kali Linux
- Burp Suite
- Nmap
- Wireshark
- OWASP ZAP
- Metasploit basics
- Vulnerability scanners
- Python or Bash scripting
- Linux command line
- Web application security
- Network security
- API security
- CTF platforms or cybersecurity labs
- Basic understanding of cloud security
Candidates do not need to know all of these tools. A strong willingness to learn and a good understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals are more important.
Eligibility
- Final-year students or recent graduates.
- Background in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Candidates with relevant academic, personal, CTF, lab, or cybersecurity projects are encouraged to apply.
- Freshers are welcome to apply.
- Candidates should have access to a computer/laptop and a reliable internet connection for remote work.
