The People Generalist is a key member of the People Team, responsible for delivering high-quality, consistent, and efficient operational HR support across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the People Operations Manager, this role partners closely with People Business Partners and other People team colleagues to ensure the smooth execution of core People processes, compliance with policies and regulations and ensuring an excellent employee experience. The People Generalist provides hands-on support in all operational areas across the entire employee life cycle including data management, compliance, and offboarding, and offers ad hoc coordination and administrative support as needed.
This role will help support the role out and coordination of key People Team initiatives across ETS. Supporting our team in delivering continuous improvement, efficiencies and streamlining processes where possible.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver day-to-day People operations (onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, HRIS administration, compliance), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and collaboration with the wider People Team and relevant subject matter experts.

Act as a first point of contact for employee queries, providing guidance on People policies, processes, and systems, escalating complex issues as needed.

Support People Business Partners with operational delivery, including employee relations coordination, performance management, engagement initiatives, and process alignment.

Maintain accurate employee records and documentation in line with data privacy and compliance requirements; assist with HR reports, analytics, and dashboards, partnering with HRIS and Total Rewards as relevant.

Coordinate and support the administration of benefits, payroll, and other employee programmes, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders if relevant in your country.

Support the implementation and communication of People policies, procedures, and initiatives; participate in continuous improvement of People processes and employee experience.

Provide administrative support for HR projects, audits, compliance activities, and the organisation of People Team events, training, and meetings.

Foster a culture of self-service, working with Internal Communications to ensure clear information for employees.

Partner with stakeholder groups (e.g., IT, Finance, Marketing) to ensure People Team processes are effective, on brand, and aligned.

Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, regulatory standards, and agreed SLAs for People Operations

Remain flexible and adaptable, supporting ad hoc requests and administration or coordination as directed by the People Consulting or Operations group.
Experience and Skills:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years' experience in an HR, People Operations, or administrative role, ideally in a fast-paced or complex environment.

Experience supporting HR processes such as onboarding, data management, or employee relations is desirable.

Exposure to HR systems and data management preferred.

Experience working in a team-oriented, service-driven environment.

Experience working in a global organization is preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Basic understanding of financial concepts (e.g., budgets, cost drivers) to support HR-related administration and queries.

Awareness of business context and priorities to help align day-to-day people practices with team needs.

Ability to accurately handle HR data, maintain records, and assist with basic reporting.

Recognises issues or patterns in employee or team challenges and knows when to escalate for resolution.

Developing commercial awareness and understanding of how HR supports business operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years' experience in an HR, People Operations, or administrative role, ideally within a global or matrixed organisation.

Experience supporting employee relations processes, such as handling queries, assisting with investigations, and supporting policy application.

Basic knowledge of India employment legislation, statutory compliance, and regional HR practices (or willingness to learn).

Exposure to working with cross-cultural teams or in international environments is an advantage.

Ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.

Experience supporting or coordinating with HR centres of excellence (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations, HRIS, Learning & Development).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide helpful support to managers and employees.

Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or India-specific HR credentials (e.g., NIPM, HRM India) are a plus, but not required.
