We are currently looking for Technician based at Silvassa with details mentioned below.
Let me tell you about the role!
To support effective engineering stores and plant materials management by ensuring proper receipt, storage, issue, control, and documentation of materials, spares, consumables, and scrap, while complying with statutory and internal control requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering Stores Operations
-
Support day-to-day engineering stores activities, including receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, and issue of materials and spares.

Ensure proper identification, labelling, coding, and systematic arrangement of engineering spares, tools, and equipment.
-
Maintain stores layout to support easy access, FIFO adherence, safety, and Bay audit 5S.
-
Assist in material arrangements within plant areas as per shutdowns, maintenance schedules, and project requirements.
2. Inventory & System Management
-
Maintain accurate records in the inventory management system / JDE for receipts, issues, returns, and stock transfers.
-
Monitor FIFO, shelf-life, ageing of inventory, and highlight slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete items.
-
Participate in cycle counts, physical stock verification, reconciliation, and audit support.
-
Support monthly provisioning for inventory and spares in coordination with engineering and finance.
3. PO, GRN & Bill Processing Support
-
Awareness and support in Purchase Order (PO) creation, material follow-up, and coordination with procurement.
-
Ensure proper material receipt documentation (GRN/MRN) and verification against PO.
-
Support vendor bill processing, documentation submission, and coordination with finance/accounts.
-
Track pending POs, open GRNs, and invoice status.
4. Plant Consumables Management
-
Manage plant consumables such as Filters, inks, solvents, fasteners, electrical items, safety spares, etc.

Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and initiate timely indents.
-
Issue consumables as per approved requests and maintain consumption records.
5. Scrap & Rejected Material Management
-
Manage scrap generation, segregation, storage, and disposal as per company procedures.
-
Maintain proper scrap registers, weighing records, and handover documentation.
-
Coordinate with authorised vendors and internal teams during scrap disposal.
-
Support audits related to scrap and rejected material.
6. Statutory & Compliance Activities
-
Coordinate and support statutory weighing scale stamping and calibration activities.
-
Maintain records and certificates related to weighing instruments and statutory compliance.
-
Ensure activities comply with internal SOPs, safety norms, and statutory requirements.
7. Data Logging & Reporting
-
Maintain store-related registers, logs, and data (manual and system-based).
-
Prepare monthly reports related to critical spares, consumption, ageing, scrap, and capex materials.
-
Support Capex material tracking, documentation, and cash flow coordination with project/finance teams.
8. Cross-functional Coordination
-
Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, production, procurement, finance, and safety teams.

Support plant shutdowns, breakdowns, and emergency material requirements.
-
Assist seniors in continuous improvement initiatives related to stores and inventory control.
Key Skills & Competencies
-
Good knowledge of engineering stores management systems.
-
Awareness of inventory control principles, FIFO, ageing, and stock optimization.
-
Basic understanding of BP monthly provisioning and Capex cash flow tracking.
-
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word (data entry, reports, tracking sheets).
-
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow SOPs.
-
Good coordination, communication, and organisational skills.
Qualification & Experience
-
B.com graduate preferred.
-
3–5 years of experience in engineering or plant stores within a manufacturing/industrial setup.
Working Conditions
-
Factory/plant environment.
-
May require support during shutdowns, audits, and peak maintenance activities.

Follow the HSSE requirements specified in OMS and contribute to the delivery of safe, compliant and reliable operations
