The Site Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing construction activities for multi-storied building projects, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, quality standards, safety norms, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise day-to-day construction activities for commercial buildings.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
- Coordinate works related to RMC, masonry, plastering, finishing, and external works.
- Monitor subcontractors, labour productivity, and material usage.
Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with IS codes, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and maintain quality checklists.
- Identify workmanship issues and ensure timely rectification.
- Support testing of concrete, steel, and other materials.
Coordination & Planning
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, MEP engineers, and contractors.
- Plan construction to meet project timelines.
- Assist in preparation of bar bending schedules (BBS) and quantity estimates.
- Resolve site-level technical issues and drawing discrepancies.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce site safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Ensure safe working practices at heights, scaffolding, formwork, and lifting operations.
- Conduct toolbox talks and report safety incidents.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily progress reports (DPRs) and site records.
- Record measurements for billing and subcontractor payments.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and handover documents.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma / BE in Civil Engineering.
- 4–10 years of site experience.
- Proven experience handling RMC, high-rise execution, and coordination with multiple trades.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of RMC, formwork systems, concreting, and finishing works.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Excel, and basic project documentation.
- Good leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under tight schedules and pressure.
