Job Summary
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, supervising kitchen staff, and supporting smooth food preparation and service operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities.
- Ensure food preparation meets quality and presentation standards.
- Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety practices in the kitchen.
- Manage kitchen inventory and report stock requirements.
- Assist in scheduling staff shifts and assigning duties.
- Ensure proper storage of food items and kitchen equipment.
- Train new kitchen employees on kitchen procedures and safety standards.
- Support chefs during busy service periods.
- Monitor waste control and maintain cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and health regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic inventory and stock management knowledge.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Diploma or certification in Hospitality or Culinary Arts is an advantage.
