Core Objective
Own the design, implementation, and reliability of electrical systems across automation machinery—ensuring seamless coordination between design, PLC control, and on-field execution.
Roles & Responsibilities1. Electrical Design & CAD
- Create detailed electrical schematics and panel layouts using tools like
- EPLAN Electric P8 / AutoCAD Electrical
- Design:
- Control panels (PLC, drives, relays, safety circuits)
- Power distribution systems
- Wiring diagrams and terminal plans
- Ensure compliance with industrial standards and safety norms2. PLC Coordination & Control Integration
- Work closely with PLC team using platforms like
- Siemens TIA Portal / Allen-Bradley Studio 5000
- Translate electrical design → control logic requirements
- Support PLC programming team with:
- I/O mapping
- Signal validation
- Debugging during commissioning3. Troubleshooting & Debugging (Core Strength)
- Diagnose and resolve:
- Wiring issues
- Signal failures
- Electrical noise/interference
- Panel/component failures
- Work hands-on during:
- Machine assembly
- Factory trials
- Customer site commissioning
4. Field Coordination & Issue Resolution
- Act as the bridge between design, PLC team, and site execution
- Coordinate with:
- Installation teams
- Field engineers
- Customers (when required)
- Ensure quick closure of on-site electrical issues
5. Component Selection & Vendor Management
- Select and validate:
- PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, power supplies
- Work with vendors for:
- Procurement
- Technical clarifications
- Quality checks
6. Testing, Commissioning & Reliability
- Drive:
- Panel testing
- FAT (Factory Acceptance Test)
- SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
- Ensure systems are:
- Stable
- Safe
- Production-ready
7. Documentation & Standardization
- Maintain:
- Electrical drawings
- BOMs
- Wiring standards
- Contribute to:
- Modular design practices
