Role Description This is a remote, contract role for a Quality Assurance Tester at Arbelos Solutions. The Quality Assurance Tester will be responsible for reviewing requirements and specifications, designing and documenting clear test cases, and executing manual tests across web, mobile, and enterprise applications. The role includes identifying, documenting, and tracking defects; collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to clarify issues and retest fixes; and validating that deliverables meet functional and non-functional requirements. The tester will contribute to test plan creation, participate in review meetings, provide regular status updates, and support regression testing for new releases. The position may also involve assisting with basic test data preparation, maintaining test documentation, and suggesting process improvements to enhance product quality.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Quality Assurance and Software Testing principles, including understanding of testing life cycle and defect management.
- Hands-on experience with Test Execution and executing well-defined Test Cases for web, mobile, or enterprise applications.
- Proficiency in Manual Testing techniques, including functional, regression, and usability testing.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret requirements, identify edge cases, and isolate root causes of defects.
- Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail or similar).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting test results and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a contract setting.
- Preferred: experience testing telecom, cloud, or SaaS applications; basic understanding of APIs, databases, and SQL; exposure to automation tools is a plus.
- Preferred education: bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in software testing.
Additional Preferred Qualification:
- Experience testing Accounting, Finance, ERP, Billing, Payroll, Taxation, Invoicing, or related business applications.
- Understanding of financial workflows, transaction processing, reconciliation, reporting, and data validation.
- Ability to verify calculations, financial records, and business rules to ensure accuracy and compliance.
