Job Title: Planning Engineer – Pressure Vessels & Heat Exchangers

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Planning Engineer to oversee production scheduling and workflow for the fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, radiators, and related components. The role ensures that all jobs are completed on time, within capacity, and in full compliance with customer specifications and ASME U-Stamp requirements. The ideal candidate will act as the central coordination point between design, procurement, production, stores, and QA/QC to drive smooth, on-time project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
· Production Scheduling & Planning
Prepare detailed production schedules and fabrication plans for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, radiators, and associated components, aligning with customer delivery commitments and internal capacity.
· Technical Review & Job Release
Review approved drawings, bills of materials (BOM), customer specifications, and internal job requirements before releasing work orders to the shop floor.
· Progress Monitoring & Recovery
Monitor daily and weekly production progress against plan; proactively identify delays and implement recovery actions in coordination with production and support departments.
· Material & Subcontract Tracking
Track material availability, subcontract activities, and long-lead items to prevent bottlenecks in the fabrication process. Escalate shortages or delays that may impact the schedule.
· Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate closely with Design, Procurement, Production, Stores, and QA/QC to ensure a seamless workflow and on-time completion of each job.
· Reporting & Documentation
Maintain job-wise progress reports and planning records. Prepare regular updates and dashboards for management review, highlighting critical paths and potential risks.
· Compliance & Process Alignment
Ensure planning activities consistently support ASME U-Stamp requirements and other applicable codes. Incorporate lessons learned into future plans to continuously improve on-time performance.
Qualifications & Skills
· Education & Experience
o Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
o 3–6 years of planning/scheduling experience in a fabrication environment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, or similar process equipment).
o Proven exposure to ASME U-Stamp requirements and shop floor practices.
· Technical Knowledge
o Familiarity with pressure vessel and heat exchanger manufacturing processes.
o Working knowledge of radiators and related components is a plus.
o Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs, and customer specifications.
· Software & Analytical Skills
o Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) for reporting and tracking.
o Experience with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
· Soft Skills
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate across multiple departments.
o Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
o Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple jobs simultaneously.
Preferred / Added Advantage
· Certification in production planning or project management (e.g., CPIM, PMP).
· Hands-on familiarity with ASME Section VIII and U-Stamp documentation.
Pay: ₹105,000.00 - ₹135,000.00 per month
