About the Role
We are looking for a Head Barista to lead the coffee program and daily bar operations at JUNO Coffee Club. This role is for someone who understands coffee, enjoys hospitality, and can bring consistency, quality, and warmth to every drink and customer interaction.
At JUNO, we serve milk-based coffees like flat whites, cappuccinos, cortados, along with matcha, hojicha, pour overs, cold brews, and seasonal beverages.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily coffee bar operations and ensure smooth service.
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks, pour overs, cold brews, matcha, and other beverages.
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, recipes, and service standards.
- Dial in espresso, monitor extraction, adjust grind settings, and manage coffee quality throughout the day.
- Train, guide, and supervise junior baristas and café staff.
- Create and maintain bar workflows, cleaning routines, and opening/closing checklists.
- Ensure all coffee equipment, grinders, tools, counters, and service areas are clean and well maintained.
- Manage stock levels for coffee, milk, matcha, syrups, packaging, and bar supplies.
- Coordinate with vendors and report maintenance or supply issues on time.
- Interact with customers, explain drinks, recommend options, and create a welcoming café experience.
- Support menu development, seasonal drinks, and improvements to café operations.
- Maintain hygiene, food safety, and overall café cleanliness standards.
What We Are Looking For
- Prior experience as a barista, preferably in a specialty coffee or premium café environment.
- Strong knowledge of espresso, milk steaming, drink preparation, and basic brewing methods.
- Ability to lead a small team with patience, clarity, and accountability.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Clean, organised, reliable, and detail-oriented working style.
- Ability to handle busy service hours calmly and efficiently.
- Interest in coffee, matcha, hospitality, and continuous learning.
