A Senior Manager of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) operations oversees the end-to-end manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial operations of PVC products like pipes, fittings, or compounds. Core Responsibilities
- Production & Operations: Oversee extrusion, injection molding, and compounding lines to maximize output while minimizing material waste and scrap.
- Quality & Compliance: Establish quality control (QC) procedures to ensure all PVC batches and finished goods meet strict regulatory and industry standards.
- Supply Chain & Inventory: Manage raw material procurement (e.g., PVC resins, additives, CPVC blends) and maintain optimal stock levels to prevent market shortages.
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor production engineers, technicians, and floor staff; lead performance reviews and drive safety protocols.
- Cost Management: Monitor plant expenses, execute continuous improvement initiatives, and validate budgets to ensure plant profitability.
- Customer & Technical Support: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to resolve customer complaints regarding grade performance or product defects.
Typical Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Plastics Engineering; an MBA is highly advantageous.
- Experience: Typically 8–15+ years of operational experience in the plastics extrusion or piping industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of \(UPVC\), \(CPVC\), compounding, and additive optimization.
- System Skills: Proficiency in ERP software (such as SAP) for managing Bills of Materials (BOM), routings, and production orders
