Job Summary
The Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing construction activities at project sites. The role ensures that all works are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project timelines. Senior Site Engineers additionally lead site teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive project delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor daily construction activities at the site.
- Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.
- Monitor manpower, materials, and equipment utilization.
- Resolve technical issues arising during project execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Prepare and monitor work schedules and progress plans.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Review drawings and identify discrepancies before execution.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide progress updates.
- Assist in resource planning and allocation.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections and maintain quality records.
- Monitor testing and inspection activities for materials and completed work.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with site safety policies and statutory regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain daily site reports, progress reports, and work records.
- Prepare measurement sheets and verify contractor bills.
- Maintain project documentation, drawings, and approvals.
- Track project milestones and report deviations.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and site supervisors.
- Manage multiple work fronts and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and senior management.
- Review project progress against targets and recommend corrective actions.
- Support project planning, budgeting, and cost-control initiatives.
- Ensure timely project completion within budget and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Site Engineer: 2–5 years of relevant construction experience.
- Senior Site Engineer: 5–10+ years of relevant construction experience.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.
