Role: Chief Engineer – Project & Pre-Opening
Salary Budget - 40-50K Monthly
Role Summary
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the technical and engineering aspects of hotel projects, from design review and construction through testing, commissioning, and final handover. The role will ensure that all Civil, MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety, and specialized hotel systems are delivered as per project timelines, approved budgets, and hotel standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Planning & Design Review
- Review architectural, civil, MEP, and engineering drawings in coordination with architects, consultants, and project teams.
- Ensure technical requirements are aligned with hotel standards, operational requirements, and guest amenities.
- Review layouts for kitchens, laundry, back-of-house areas, guest rooms, public areas, and engineering spaces.
2. Civil & MEP Supervision
- Supervise civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drainage, and MEP works at site.
- Coordinate installation and commissioning of:
- Commercial kitchens
- Laundry systems
- Swimming pools
- Elevators
- DG sets
- STP / WTP
- Fire-fighting systems
- HVAC systems
- Ensure quality and technical specifications are maintained throughout the project.
3. Project Timeline & Budget
- Monitor project progress against the approved timeline and milestones.
- Identify delays and coordinate corrective actions.
- Monitor engineering-related expenses and ensure work remains within the approved project budget.
- Review material requirements and support cost-effective technical decisions.
4. Vendor & Contractor Management
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and project agencies.
- Monitor quality and progress of contractor work.
- Inspect materials delivered to site for quality and specifications.
- Verify measurements, work completion, and contractor bills before approval.
5. Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable building, electrical, fire, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate requirements related to Fire NOC, Occupancy Certificate, electrical approvals, pollution/environmental compliance, and other statutory approvals.
- Ensure all engineering installations meet required safety standards.
6. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Plan and supervise testing and commissioning of all major engineering systems before opening.
- Ensure proper commissioning of DG, HVAC, fire-fighting, STP/WTP, electrical, plumbing, elevators, and other MEP systems.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning records and snag lists.
- Ensure timely closure of technical snags before hotel opening.
- Complete handover of drawings, manuals, warranties, AMC details, certificates, and technical documents to the Operations/Maintenance team.

Requirements
- Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or relevant technical qualification
- Strong experience in hotel projects / pre-openings
- Experience managing MEP and engineering contractors
- Strong understanding of hotel engineering requirements and operational handover
- Ability to coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and hotel operations teams
- Willingness to travel / work at project sites as required.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
