About the Role
Phantom Hands is a furniture maker based in Abbigere, Jalahalli, Bangalore. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient factory environment of about 30,000 sq ft, across all production and support areas. The role will drive 5S implementation, housekeeping standards, safety compliance, facility maintenance, utilities management, and contractor supervision to ensure uninterrupted operations. The position will work closely with department heads to establish, monitor, and continuously improve systems and standards that support operational excellence across the factory.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and monitor housekeeping standards, ensuring clean, organized, and hazard-free workspaces.
- Manage pantry, washrooms, employee common areas, and other support facilities to maintain high standards of cleanliness and service.
- Ensure gardens, landscaping, outdoor areas, and factory surroundings are well maintained and presentable at all times.
- Manage maintenance of factory buildings, sheds, roads, electrical systems, lighting, plumbing, compressors, and utility infrastructure.
- Own and drive implementation across all factory areas including wood storage, carpentry, polishing, upholstery, cane weaving, warehouses, offices, and common areas.
- Ensure compliance with all safety requirements including fire safety, emergency preparedness, PPE usage, signage, access control, and statutory inspections.
- Conduct regular facility, safety, and housekeeping audits and drive corrective actions.
- Oversee waste segregation, responsible disposal of production and general waste, scrap management, dust collection systems, pest control, and environmental compliance.
- Supervise security and external contractors and service providers.
- Monitor utility consumption (power, water, compressed air) and drive cost and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain all facility-related records, licenses, AMC contracts, and compliance documentation.
- Plan and execute facility improvement projects and infrastructure upgrades.
- Manage a team of housekeeping and maintenance staff.

Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in facilities management, factory administration, maintenance, EHS, or operations support within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing housekeeping, security, maintenance teams, and external contractors.
- Working knowledge of 5S, workplace organization, safety systems, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with factory infrastructure including electrical systems, utilities, civil works, plumbing, and general facility upkeep.
- Understanding of statutory compliance requirements related to factories, fire safety, and environmental management.
- Experience in implementing systems, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, spreadsheets, reporting tools) and maintaining operational records.
Employment Type
Permanent, full-time position with a 3-month probation period.
