Job Summary
The Maintenance Head will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing all maintenance activities of the frozen dessert and ice cream manufacturing plant. The role ensures smooth functioning of production machinery, refrigeration systems, utilities, and plant equipment to achieve uninterrupted production, product quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Plant & Machinery Maintenance
- Ensure preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all production equipment.
- Maintain continuous operation of ice cream and frozen dessert processing lines.
- Supervise maintenance of:
- Homogenizers
- Pasteurizers
- Freezers
- Mix tanks
- Filling and packing machines
- Conveyors
- Cold storage systems
- Compressors and refrigeration units
- Blast Freezer.
- Chillers
- Reduce machine downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
Refrigeration & Utility Management
- Handle operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, and cold rooms.
- Ensure proper functioning of utilities such as:
- Boilers
- Air compressors
- DG sets
- Water systems
- Electrical panels
- Electrical Oven
- Depositor.
- Monitor energy consumption and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Electrical & Automation Knowledge
- Must possess essential knowledge of industrial electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Handle maintenance of electrical panels, motors, drives, control systems, and wiring.
- Basic understanding of PLC systems, automation controls, sensors, and production line electrical operations.
- Ensure safe electrical practices and compliance with electrical safety standards.
Preventive Maintenance Planning
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain maintenance records, logs, and machine history.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and inventory control.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise maintenance engineers, technicians, electricians, and utility operators.
- Allocate manpower according to shift requirements.
- Train maintenance staff on safety and machine handling.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with factory safety standards and food industry regulations.
- Implement GMP, HACCP, and hygiene standards in maintenance activities.
- Ensure safe handling of ammonia/refrigeration systems and electrical equipment.
Production Coordination
- Coordinate with production and quality departments for smooth production planning.
- Attend breakdowns immediately to avoid production loss.
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily maintenance reports and downtime analysis.
- Maintain AMC records and vendor coordination.
- Prepare monthly maintenance budgets and cost reports.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Additional certification in refrigeration or industrial maintenance preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 7–12 years of experience in food manufacturing maintenance.
- Experience in frozen dessert, dairy, or ice cream industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems and industrial electrical maintenance is mandatory.
Required Skills

- Knowledge of refrigeration systems and cold chain maintenance.
- Leadership and manpower handling abilities.
- Knowledge of PLC, electrical systems, and automation.

Working Conditions
- Factory-based role with shift management responsibilities.
- Availability for emergency breakdown support when required.
Pay: From ₹70,000.00 per month
