Key Responsibilities
- Conduct time and motion studies to determine Standard Minute Values (SMV/SAM) for all operations.
- Prepare operation bulletins (OB) and plan line layouts for new styles prior to production.
- Carry out line balancing to optimize manpower allocation and minimize bottlenecks.
- Monitor and report daily/weekly line efficiency, productivity, and target achievement.
- Identify non-value-added activities and implement method improvements to reduce cycle time.
- Plan production capacity in coordination with Merchandising and Production for order commitments.
- Analyze downtime, absenteeism, and thread/operator loss; recommend corrective actions.
- Drive Kaizen, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
- Conduct skill-matrix mapping and support operator training/multi-skilling programs.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve efficiency bottlenecks.
- Prepare MIS reports on productivity, efficiency trends, and cost-per-minute analysis for management review.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of work study techniques — time study, motion study, and SMV calculation.
- Hands-on experience with line balancing and layout planning for garment/home furnishing production lines.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into actionable efficiency improvements.
- Good coordination and communication skills to work across Production, Quality, and Merchandising.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and IE/production tracking software (GSD, Sewing Skill Matrix tools, or similar preferred).
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Textile Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Apparel Production.
- 6-10 years of experience in Industrial Engineering within a garment or textile manufacturing unit, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Experience in the textile industry, preferably home furnishing, will be an added advantage.

- Reduction in non-productive time and operator idle time.
- Accurate and timely SMV/OB preparation for new styles.
- Successful implementation of Kaizen/continuous improvement projects.
