About Akshaya Chaitanya :-
Akshaya Chaitanya is a not-for-profit social enterprise by HKM charitable foundation to eradicate hunger from Mumbai. We have partnered with the Medical Education and Drug Department (MEDD) of Government of Maharashtra and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to provide relief to the families of patients by serving them meals at lunch. Additionally, we are running feeding program for children in Slums and Municipal Schools. Our aim is to ensure that we make one lac individuals’ food-secure by 2025 to help them explore opportunities beyond solving hunger.
Job Responsibilities:-
Inventory Management & Cost Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory for the centralized kitchen.
- Conduct regular stock audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with food safety standards.
- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies.
- Keep track on Expiry of the products.
- Physical Stock taking - Weekly / Fortnightly / Monthly
- Following FIFO Strictly
- Ensure cost control while issuing materials as per indent/ requirement
Procurement and Receiving:
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely receipt of groceries and supplies.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, particularly focusing on perishable items.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of received goods, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Managing Manpower & Unloaders.
- Temperature monitoring while receiving perishable items (including Cold & Frozen items)
Stock Replenishment:
- Monitor stock levels of groceries and initiate timely replenishment orders.
- Work closely with suppliers to secure prompt and cost-effective deliveries.
- Implement efficient restocking procedures to prevent shortages during kitchen operations.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular quality checks on received groceries to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Identify and address any quality issues promptly, collaborating with the kitchen team as needed.
- Communicate quality concerns with suppliers to maintain high standards.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory transactions for the centralized kitchen.
- Generate reports on stock levels, consumption, and replenishment needs.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards and procedures, especially in the context of food safety.
- Maintaining all the necessary checklists.
Coordination:
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to understand their inventory needs and ensure alignment.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate stock movements in alignment with kitchen operations.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide insights on stock availability and potential challenges.
System Handling:
- To make the GRN Entry in the system
- To make the Issuance entry in the system
- Calculation of Cost per Meal on day-to-day basis
- Assuring that books will get closed at the end of every month.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a food-related setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
