Job Summary
The Tools Architect is responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing the enterprise network monitoring, observability, and automation ecosystem across global network operations. This role ensures seamless integration of tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk ITSI, and Cisco DNAC (Catalyst Center) to deliver a unified, intelligent, and proactive NOC platform aligned with ITIL practices and business SLAs.
The architect drives single-pane-of-glass visibility, event correlation, automated incident management, and analytics-driven operations , supporting large-scale, multi-vendor network environments.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities 1. Tools Architecture & Strategy Define and own the end-to-end tooling architecture for Network Operations (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/SDWAN/Data Center). Design integrated monitoring ecosystem across: SolarWinds – Network performance & fault monitoring Splunk ITSI – Event correlation, service intelligence, AIOps Cisco DNAC – Assurance, provisioning, telemetry, automation Establish “Manager of Managers (MoM)” architecture for centralized visibility. Develop roadmap for observability, automation, and predictive analytics. 2. Integration & Data Correlation Architect integrations between tools using: REST APIs, SNMP, Syslog, Streaming Telemetry Enable data ingestion from multi-domain sources: Network devices, security tools, cloud platforms Design event correlation models in Splunk ITSI for: Noise reduction and alert consolidation Integrate SolarWinds and DNAC telemetry into Splunk for unified analytics. 3. Monitoring & Observability Design Define monitoring frameworks for: Fault, Performance, Availability, and Experience monitoring Configure: Thresholds, KPIs, SLAs, Service Models Build service topology mapping in ITSI aligned to business services. Enable end-to-end observability across: WAN, SDWAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, Data Center, and Cloud environments 4. Automation & AIOps Enablement Design and implement: Automated incident creation (ServiceNow integration) Auto-remediation workflows Self-healing scripts and runbooks Enable: Predictive analytics Event-driven automation Automated RCA frameworks Support “shift-left operations” by reducing manual intervention. 5. Cisco DNAC (Catalyst Center) Architecture Define architecture for: Device discovery, provisioning, assurance, and compliance Integrate DNAC with monitoring stack for: AI-driven insights and network health scoring Enable telemetry streaming into Splunk ITSI for analytics 6. Governance & Standardization Define tool governance, standards, and best practices: Naming conventions Event severity models Dashboard standards Ensure alignment with: ITIL Incident, Problem, Change Management processes Drive adoption of: Standardized dashboards and reports 7. Reporting & Dashboards Architect executive and operational dashboards: SLA/KPI tracking Availability & MTTR Incident trends & correlation insights Enab
