- Collaboration: Act as a "captain of the ship" to coordinate care among specialists, therapists, and medical support staff. [1]
- Patient Education & Advocacy: Advise patients and relatives on recovery steps, preventative health measures, and treatment expectations. [1, 2]
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential medical records regarding patient progress and medication regimens. [1, 2]

Skills & Requirements
- Core Competencies: Active BLS (Basic Life Support) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications depending on the facility. [1, 2, 3]
- Education & Licensing: An Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), coupled with a current nursing license (e.g., passing the NCLEX-RN). [1, 2]
