We are looking for a dynamic ESG & Sustainability professional to drive environmental, social, governance, and statutory compliance initiatives across our manufacturing operations.
Position Summary
The Assistant Manager / Manager – ESG, Sustainability & Compliance will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the company's ESG framework, sustainability initiatives, EHS compliance, statutory documentation, certifications, customer sustainability requirements, audit preparedness, and reporting. The role will work closely with Production, EHS, HR, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, and Corporate teams to ensure compliance with Indian regulations and global customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities1. ESG Strategy & Implementation
- Implement and monitor the company's ESG roadmap.
- Drive environmental, social, and governance initiatives across all manufacturing units.
- Develop ESG KPIs and sustainability dashboards.
- Monitor ESG targets and prepare periodic management reports.
- Coordinate ESG committee meetings and maintain action trackers.
2. Sustainability Programs
- Lead sustainability projects focused on circular economy, waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and carbon footprint reduction.
- Identify and implement resource conservation initiatives.
- Monitor waste generation, recycling efficiency, and material recovery.
- Support Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and sustainability improvement initiatives.
3. ESG Reporting & Customer Requirements
- Prepare ESG reports for customers, investors, and management.
- Coordinate sustainability questionnaires from global customers.
- Maintain sustainability performance data and evidence.
- Support preparation of annual sustainability reports.
- Coordinate CDP, EcoVadis, SEDEX, and customer sustainability assessments where applicable.
4. Environmental Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Pollution Control Board requirements.
- Coordinate Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO) renewals.
- Monitor hazardous waste, plastic waste, EPR, and environmental records.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring reports.
- Maintain legal environmental registers.
5. Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
- Manage EPR documentation and compliance.
- Coordinate EPR portal submissions and reconciliations.
- Maintain traceability of plastic waste procurement and recycling.
- Coordinate with recyclers, producers, and compliance agencies.
6. Certifications & Management Systems
Lead and maintain certification requirements for:
- ISO 9001
- ISO 14001
- ISO 45001
- IMS
- ISCC PLUS
- GRS (Global Recycled Standard)
- RecyClass (preferred)
- Zero Waste to Landfill initiatives
- Carbon accounting frameworks
Coordinate certification audits, surveillance audits, and corrective actions.
7. Audit Management
- Prepare for customer, certification, regulatory, and investor audits.
- Maintain audit documentation and evidence.
- Track audit observations and corrective actions.
- Ensure timely closure of non-conformities (NCs).
8. Compliance Management
- Maintain legal compliance registers.
- Track statutory approvals, licences, and renewals.
- Coordinate with consultants and government authorities.
- Monitor compliance obligations under applicable environmental and labour regulations.
9. EHS Coordination
- Support implementation of Environment, Health & Safety systems.
- Conduct workplace inspections and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate risk assessments and corrective actions.
- Promote behavioural safety and environmental awareness.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and mock drills.
10. Carbon & Climate Initiatives
- Collect and analyse energy, fuel, water, and emission data.
- Support greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory preparation.
- Monitor carbon footprint reduction initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for renewable energy and energy efficiency.
- Support carbon credit and decarbonization initiatives.
11. ESG Documentation & Data Management
- Maintain ESG dashboards and sustainability databases.
- Develop SOPs, policies, manuals, and work instructions.
- Maintain digital document management systems.
- Ensure accurate document version control and audit readiness.
12. Training & Awareness
- Conduct ESG, sustainability, EHS, and compliance training.
- Develop awareness campaigns and toolbox sessions.
- Promote sustainability culture throughout the organization.
- Maintain employee training records.
13. Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, HR, Quality, Procurement, Maintenance, and Finance teams.
- Liaise with certification bodies, consultants, auditors, customers, and government agencies.
- Support CSR and community sustainability initiatives.

Desired Candidate ProfileEducation
- BE/B.Tech (Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial or related discipline) or
- MBA / PG Diploma in Sustainability, ESG, Environment, or Industrial Safety.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, EHS, compliance, or management systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in plastics, polymers, recycling, chemicals, process industries, or engineering manufacturing is preferred.

₹50,000 per month onwards (Based on experience and qualifications)
