Daily Hotel Manager Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a hotel manager typically span across five core areas:
1. Guest Services & Reputation Management
- Ensure a 100% commitment to providing memorable, high-quality guest experiences.
- Serve as the primary contact for escalating or resolving severe customer complaints.
- Monitor and respond to online reviews (e.g., Google, TripAdvisor) and ensure the Service Recovery Program is effective.
- Review daily arrival reports, paying close attention to VIP guests and special requests.
2. Staff Leadership & Human Resources
- Recruit, train, and supervise all department heads and hotel staff.
- Create staff rotas, delegate tasks, and monitor departmental performance.
- Foster a positive work environment and provide constructive feedback and career development.
- Conduct performance reviews and enforce attendance and disciplinary guidelines.
3. Financial & Revenue Management
- Develop and manage annual budgets.
- Oversee the profit and loss (P&L) of the hotel, optimizing revenue streams and controlling operational costs.
- Establish room rates, analyze sales figures, and prepare regular statistical and financial reports.
- Approve day-to-day purchases and monitor inventory.
4. Operations & Facilities Management
- Coordinate cross-departmental operations, ensuring seamless communication between front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
- Plan and schedule building maintenance, renovations, and specialist contractor work.
- Inspect the property daily to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and readiness are met.
- Manage vendor relationships and inventory.
5. Sales, Marketing, & Compliance
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop campaigns that increase occupancy rates.
- Coordinate with external parties, including travel agencies, corporate bookers, and event planners.
- Ensure total compliance with local licensing laws, health regulations, and fire and safety codes.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
