Role Description
As a Civil 3D Modeler, you will be responsible for developing accurate and detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities, grading, and land development works. The role requires proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and a strong understanding of infrastructure design standards, modeling workflows, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas
1. Civil 3D Modeling & Design Development
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D models for roadways, utilities, grading, drainage, and site development projects using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Create alignments, profiles, corridors, assemblies, surfaces, and cross-sections based on project requirements.
- Prepare engineering drawings and construction documentation from Civil 3D models.
2. Utilities Modeling
- Model underground and above-ground utility networks, including water supply, sewer, stormwater drainage, electrical, and telecom systems.
- Ensure utility layouts comply with project specifications, design standards, and coordination requirements.
- Support utility clash identification and resolution during project development.
3. Road and Infrastructure Design Support
- Assist in roadway design, corridor modeling, grading plans, and earthwork calculations.
- Generate plan, profile, and section drawings for transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Support infrastructure design teams in preparing project deliverables.
4. Quality Assurance & Standards Compliance
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure model accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
- Maintain consistency in drawing production, naming conventions, and model organization.
- Address design and modeling issues proactively to minimize project risks.
5. Coordination & Collaboration
- Coordinate with engineers, BIM modelers, and project stakeholders to integrate design information.
- Participate in design reviews and model coordination meetings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project execution.
6. Task Ownership & Problem Solving
- Take ownership of assigned modeling tasks and deliver outputs within project schedules.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve design and modeling challenges.
- Continuously improve workflows and productivity through efficient use of Civil 3D tools.
Qualifications and Skills ExpectedEducational Background
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Technical Proficiency
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of roadway design, grading, utility design, and land development projects.
- Experience in creating alignments, profiles, corridors, surfaces, and pipe networks.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM workflows.
- Understanding of infrastructure design standards and engineering drawing practices.
