Job Summary
We are looking for a Quality Engineer for the forging division of a hand tool manufacturing company. The candidate will be responsible for forging product quality inspection, first piece approval, setup approval, running product inspection, and blanking inspection. The role requires strong knowledge of forging processes, defect control, rejection reduction, and rework control to ensure smooth further processing and product quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform forging product inspection as per drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct First Piece (PC) inspection and setup approval before production start.
- Monitor running production quality and ensure process compliance.
- Carry out blanking inspection and in-process quality checks.
- Identify and control forging defects during production stages.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and quality losses on the shop floor.
- Analyze rejection causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure reworking impact is controlled to avoid issues in further processes.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams for process improvement.
- Maintain quality inspection reports and rejection records.
- Ensure proper use of measuring instruments and gauges.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of forging process and forging defects.
- Experience in setup approval and first piece inspection.
- Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and process control.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Hands-on experience with Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and other inspection tools.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation.
Qualification
- Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Maintenance Engineering.
- Experience: 4–5 years in forging or hand tool manufacturing industry.
- Preferred Age: 25–30 Years.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in hand tool forging process preferred.
- Good understanding of rejection control and process improvement.
- Ability to work closely with production and quality teams.
Salary
- Negotiable as per experience and skills.
Working Location
Pay: ₹30,000.51 - ₹40,000.25 per month
