Job Description – Senior Design Engineer
Position: Senior Design Engineer – Packaging & Beverage Machinery

1. Machine Design & Development
- Design and develop Automatic Jar Washing Machines, PET Bottle Blowing Machines, and Water Bottle Filling Machines.
- Prepare complete mechanical designs, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Develop machine concepts based on customer requirements and production capacity.
- Select suitable mechanisms, materials, components, motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, and pneumatic systems.
2. CAD & Engineering Documentation
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using SolidWorks / AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Prepare BOM, part drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Maintain proper revision control and engineering documentation.
- Review drawings for manufacturability, accuracy, and cost effectiveness.
3. Machine-Specific Design Expertise
- Automatic Jar Washing: Bottle/jar handling, conveyor systems, washing mechanisms, spray systems, pumps, nozzles, and drainage arrangements.
- PET Bottle Blowing: Preform handling, heating arrangements, mould mechanisms, pneumatic systems, and bottle transfer systems.
- Water Bottle Filling: Bottle rinsing, filling, capping, conveyor, star-wheel, indexing, and bottle-handling mechanisms.
- Understand machine integration with conveyors, labelling, packing, and other downstream equipment.
4. Engineering & Component Selection
- Perform basic engineering calculations for shafts, bearings, chains, gears, belts, structures, pneumatic systems, and mechanisms.
- Select standard components based on load, speed, capacity, and operating conditions.
- Coordinate with electrical and automation engineers for sensors, actuators, PLC, HMI, and machine-control requirements.
5. Prototype & Machine Development
- Develop prototypes and conduct design validation.
- Identify design issues during assembly, testing, and machine trials.
- Implement design modifications and engineering improvements.
- Ensure machines achieve required speed, accuracy, reliability, safety, and performance.
6. Manufacturing & Assembly Support
- Coordinate with fabrication, machining, assembly, and production teams.
- Provide technical clarification for manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Inspect critical components and assemblies against engineering drawings.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, and trial runs.
7. Troubleshooting & Improvement
- Analyze mechanical failures, vibration, alignment, leakage, bottle-jamming, and machine-performance issues.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Improve existing machine designs for higher productivity, lower maintenance, and reduced manufacturing cost.
8. Project & Customer Support
- Understand customer technical requirements and convert them into engineering specifications.
- Coordinate with project, production, purchase, and service teams.
- Support customer trials, FAT/SAT, installation, and commissioning when required.
- Incorporate customer feedback and develop suitable design modifications.
9. Team Leadership
- Guide and review the work of Design Engineers and Junior Design Engineers.
- Allocate design activities and monitor engineering schedules.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to company engineering standards.
- Support development of standard machine designs and reusable engineering solutions.
10. Qualifications & Key Skills
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–10+ years of relevant experience in packaging, beverage, bottling, filling, washing, or PET machinery.
- Strong knowledge of SolidWorks/AutoCAD and mechanical machine design.
- Practical experience in machine development, manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, rotary, indexing, and bottle-handling systems.
- Good understanding of DFMA, GD&T, tolerance, material selection, and standard machine components.
- Strong problem-solving, team coordination, and project execution skills.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
