Production Section Head (Fabrication / Engineering / Electrical/Fitout & Painting)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Section Head to oversee and manage production activities within the Fabrication, Engineering, Electrical, Fit Out and painting department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising daily operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities within the assigned section.
- Allocate manpower, equipment, and resources effectively to achieve production targets.
- Monitor work progress and ensure adherence to project schedules and deadlines.
- Coordinate with Project, Design, QA/QC, Procurement, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of quality and ensure all inspections are completed as required.
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor material availability and coordinate with Stores and Purchase to avoid delays.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports and update management on project progress.
- Train, guide, and evaluate supervisors, foremen, and production personnel.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and efficient utilization of machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Attend production meetings and provide technical support whenever required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Additional certifications in Production Management or Shipbuilding will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in shipbuilding, fabrication, engineering, or electrical production.
- At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or section head role.
- Experience in managing multiple production teams and marine projects.
