Position Summary
Medispec is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Manager – Flow Cytometry to drive business growth across India for its flow cytometry portfolio.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, coordinating demonstrations and evaluations, and achieving sales targets for flow cytometry instruments, software, reagents, and associated workflow solutions.
The role requires extensive interaction with researchers, laboratory managers, principal investigators, and decision-makers within pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, CROs, hospitals, and research institutes.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Drive sales of flow cytometry instruments, reagents, software, and associated solutions across India.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve annual sales targets and business objectives.
- Identify and develop new opportunities within pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, CROs, hospitals, government institutions, and academic research centers.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, customer visits, networking, seminars, conferences, and scientific meetings.
- Manage opportunities from lead generation through order closure.
Customer Engagement & Technical Sales Support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with scientists, researchers, laboratory managers, procurement teams, and key decision-makers.
- Understand customer workflows and recommend appropriate solutions based on research and application requirements.
- Conduct customer presentations, scientific discussions, and commercial meetings.
- Work closely with Field Application Scientists (FAS) to identify opportunities and develop account strategies.
- Coordinate and plan customer demonstrations, evaluations, workshops, and training programs.
- Support the preparation of presentations, technical proposals, competitive comparisons, and tender submissions.
- Track demo and evaluation activities and develop plans to convert opportunities into successful orders.
Account Management
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts across assigned regions.
- Develop long-term relationships with key customers and opinion leaders.
- Identify opportunities for upgrades, consumables, software, and service contracts.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and engagement throughout the sales process.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Managers, Field Application Scientists, Service Engineers, and Regional Sales Teams to drive business growth.
- Participate in regular pipeline reviews, forecasting discussions, and business planning meetings.
- Coordinate customer visits and scientific events to maximize business opportunities.
- Ensure seamless handover of projects following order closure.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities.
- Gather market intelligence and provide regular business updates to management.
- Identify emerging opportunities in immunology, cell biology, oncology, cell therapy, translational research, and related application areas.
- Represent Medispec at conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and scientific meetings.
Reporting & Forecasting
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activities.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and business updates.
- Prepare weekly activity reports and monthly territory reviews.
- Ensure timely follow-up and closure of customer opportunities.
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Biotechnology
- Life Sciences
- Cell Biology
- Immunology
- Biochemistry
- Microbiology
- Molecular Biology
- Or related disciplines
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in life science instrumentation sales, scientific sales, applications, or related commercial roles.
- Prior experience in flow cytometry, cell analysis, immunology, or related technologies will be preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience working with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, academic, and research customers is highly desirable.
