NewSpace Research & Technologies is a cutting-edge startup working at the forefront of defense innovation in India. With offices in Bengaluru and Delhi NCR, we are developing next-generation mission technologies for unmanned systems, autonomous platforms, and persistent aerial assets such as High-Altitude Pseudo Satellites (HAPS). Our goal is to create scalable autonomy across aerospace and robotics platforms for strategic applications.
We are looking for a Software Testing Engineer to join our fast-growing engineering team. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, functionality, and performance of software applications across multiple platforms, including embedded systems, GCS interfaces, and mission-critical control software. Experience or interest in UAVs, aerospace systems, or robotics will be a strong advantage.
Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and automated)
Collaborate with developers and systems engineers to understand software requirements and expected functionalities
Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
Identify, log, and track defects using standard defect tracking tools
Create and maintain testing documentation and reports
Participate in reviews of specifications and technical design documents to provide timely feedback
Ensure testing coverage across diverse environments including Linux, RTOS, and embedded systems
Support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices by integrating tests into automated pipelines
Contribute to improving QA processes and best practices across the development lifecycle
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field
2–5 years of experience in software testing (manual and/or automated)
Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr)
Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Shell
Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, PyTest, Robot Framework)
Exposure to version control systems like Git
Understanding of Linux-based systems and embedded software environments
Prior experience in domains like UAVs, aerospace systems, drones, or robotics
Familiarity with GCS software (e.g., QGroundControl, Mission Planner) or communication protocols like MAVLink
Basic knowledge of hardware/software integration testing
