Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Assemble, install, and fit mechanical parts, machines, and equipment.
- Perform maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical systems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment safely.
- Check machine alignment, dimensions, and tolerances using precision measuring tools.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults and breakdowns.
- Replace worn or damaged machine components.
- Carry out preventive maintenance activities.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of fitting, machining, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good physical fitness and attention to detail.
Educational Qualification
- ITI Certificate in Fitter Trade from a recognized institute.
- Apprenticeship experience is often preferred.
