The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving primary and secondary sales, managing distributors, expanding market coverage, and achieving sales targets for food products within the assigned territory. The role requires strong leadership, market knowledge, and distributor management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop and implement sales strategies for market growth.
- Increase product visibility and market penetration.
- Identify new business opportunities and appoint new distributors/dealers.
Distributor & Channel Management
- Manage distributor performance and ensure healthy ROI.
- Monitor stock availability and secondary sales movement.
- Ensure timely order collection and payment follow-up.
- Strengthen relationships with retailers, wholesalers, and key accounts.
Market Execution
- Ensure proper merchandising and product placement in outlets.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and promotional campaigns.
- Conduct regular market visits and retailer engagement activities.
Team Management
- Supervise Sales Officers/Sales Representatives.
- Provide training, motivation, and performance monitoring.
- Conduct regular review meetings with the sales team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- MBA preferred.
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in FMCG/Food sales.
- Experience in distributor handling and team management preferred.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
