Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to resolve high-priority incidents through advanced troubleshooting, ensure SLA compliance, analyse system performance trends, and create mitigation measures by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Department Overview and responsibilities include
You will be a member of Migration factory support function supporting Global Wintel environment within the bank
The work will be shift based operating within a team supporting the bank with 24x7 coverage hours
Responsible for infrastructure migration for global production / non-production of Windows OS systems in a distributed environment
Weekend work and available on-call when required
Resolve incident tickets generated via alerting systems on the Windows Infrastructure estate
Resolve problem tickets allocated to the team via SNOW
Implement request for services via SNOW or manual instructions
Mandatory Skills - Our ideal candidate should have the following
University degree with 5+ years experience in supporting WINDOWS based distributed computing environment with 2000+ systems
A solid understanding of Windows operating systems including older versions 2003, 2008. (Understanding of Citrix, VMWare, MOM, AD will be a big advantage)
Provide project support around Windows technologies on Storage Migration, DC Exit, OS Migration, Windows Estate Remediation, BCM and Power Down Activities
Familiar with networking/distributed computing concepts such as NFS, routing, troubleshooting network related issues
Knowledge of VERITAS storage foundation, volume manager, file systems and MS Clusters
Configuration knowledge of IBM Blade, HP Servers and Dell Blades
Ability to write scripts in PowerShell & VBA
Liaise with vendors to analyze crash dumps, infrastructure problems or hardware failures
Regular verbal and written communication with business partners and other support teams to clarify details of incidents or service requests to maintain production stability and meet established SLAs
Desirable Skills
Basic understanding of the Banking and Finance industry with previous job experience a plus
Understanding and working together knowledge of authentication and naming services, including NIS, LDAP with Kerberos, Power Broker, DNS, NTP etc.
The candidate should have extensive hands-on experience in delivering large-scale infrastructure/data center migration and infrastructure/data center upgradation/modernization projects within the global high availability banking /financial services environment.
Strong analytical and logical skills
ITIL Knowledge
Writing technical documentation as needed and ensuring they are updated in a timely fashion
Generic Skills
Able to establish a good working relationship with various teams
Issue Management and effective escalation management
Global user support exposure is an advantage
Technical understanding of project content and delivery
Ability to work under pressure / tight deadlines
