Perform end-to-end testing of OTT applications across Web, Android, iOS, Android TV, Fire TV, Smart TVs, and STB platforms.
Validate Live TV, VOD, Catch-up TV, DVR, EPG, Channel Management, User Profiles, Search, and Subscription workflows.
Test video playback functionality, including adaptive bitrate streaming, content entitlement, ads insertion, and playback controls.
Validate user authentication, profile management, parental controls, and content restrictions.
Conduct regression, functional, exploratory, smoke, and sanity testing for releases.
API & Backend Validation
Perform API testing using Postman, Swagger, or similar tools.
Validate content metadata, user entitlement, playback authorization, and backend integrations.
Verify data consistency between frontend applications and backend systems.
Test Planning & Execution
Review requirements and provide QA estimates and risk assessments.
Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test execution reports.
Ensure comprehensive test coverage across supported platforms and devices.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and requirement review sessions.
Leadership & Coordination
Lead testing activities for assigned releases and features.
Coordinate with Product Owners, Developers, DevOps, and Client teams.
Mentor junior QA engineers and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Review test cases and execution results to ensure quality standards are met.
Drive defect triage discussions and ensure timely defect resolution.
Reporting & Quality Metrics
Track, document, and report defects using Jira or similar tools.
Prepare daily, weekly, and release-level QA status reports.
Provide release recommendations and quality sign-off based on testing outcomes.
Identify project risks and proactively communicate mitigation plans.
Required Skills
3–5 years of experience in Software Testing with significant exposure to OTT platforms.
Strong knowledge of OTT workflows, video streaming, and content delivery ecosystems.
Experience testing Android TV, Fire TV, Smart TV, Mobile, Web, and STB applications.
Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience using Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar test management tools.
Knowledge of video streaming technologies such as HLS, DASH, DRM, and CDN concepts.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging and defect investigation skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to OTT platforms such as IPTV, Live TV, Sports Streaming, or Video-on-Demand services.
Knowledge on tools such as Charles, ADB, Git, Selenium, Appium, or Playwright.
Basic SQL and database validation knowledge.
Understanding of analytics validation tools such as Conviva, Adobe Analytics, or Google Analytics.
