Design Lead – Seating System

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Design Lead – Seating System to lead the design and development of automotive seating components, particularly head restraints and armrests. The ideal candidate will drive component development activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure delivery of high-quality products meeting cost, performance, and timing targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of seating system components including head restraints and armrests.
- Create and review technical specifications, DFMEA, DVP&R, and engineering documentation.
- Perform CAD modeling, packaging studies, clearance analysis, and design validation.
- Coordinate with CAE, manufacturing, suppliers, and vehicle integration teams.
- Support engineering releases, change management, and project milestones.
- Drive quality, cost, weight, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Conduct manufacturing feasibility, assembly studies, and benchmarking activities.
- Support durability, crash, NVH, and regulatory validation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
- 6–8 years of experience in automotive seating system design and development.
- Strong experience in component and system-level product development.
- Proficiency in CATIA or UG NX and PLM tools.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, design validation, and automotive product development processes.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes involving sheet metal, plastics, foam, trim, and seat assemblies.
- Excellent project coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers preferred.
