OT Technician (Operation Theatre Technician)
Qualification:
B.Sc. Operation Theatre Technology
Experience:
Freshers / Experienced as per hospital requirement
Key Responsibilities:
- OT Preparation & Sterilization
- Prepare operation theatre before surgeries.
- Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and OT area are sterile.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Assisting During Surgery
- Assist surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures.
- Handle surgical instruments and equipment during operations.
- Maintain proper surgical counts (instruments, swabs, needles).
- Equipment Handling
- Operate and maintain OT equipment such as suction machines, cautery machines, monitors, anesthesia machines, etc.
- Check equipment functionality before and after surgeries.
- Report equipment faults immediately to concerned departments.
- Patient Care
- Assist in shifting patients to and from OT.
- Help in positioning patients for surgery.
- Provide basic support to patients pre and post surgery.
- Documentation & Records
- Maintain OT registers, sterilization logs, and equipment records.
- Follow hospital SOPs and protocols.
- Infection Control
- Follow infection control policies and universal precautions.
- Properly dispose biomedical waste as per hospital policy.
- Team Coordination
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and OT staff.
- Attend OT meetings and training programs.
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of sterilization and aseptic techniques
- Basic knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
- Ability to work under pressure and emergencies
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Attention to detail and discipline
