Position: Ultrasound Typist / Medical Transcriptionist (Ultrasound Department)
Key Responsibilities
- Type ultrasound reports accurately and promptly based on the radiologist's findings.
- Prepare and format diagnostic reports using the Hospital Information System (HIS), RIS, or reporting software.
- Ensure correct patient details (name, age, UHID, gender, referring doctor) are entered before finalizing reports.
- Verify medical terminology, abbreviations, measurements, and spellings for accuracy.
- Coordinate with radiologists to clarify unclear dictations or report modifications.
- Print, upload, and dispatch finalized reports to the concerned department or patient after consultant approval.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with hospital policies.
- Prioritize urgent and emergency cases to ensure timely report delivery.
- Keep records of pending, completed, and corrected reports.
- Report software, printer, or system issues to the IT department promptly.
- Assist in maintaining departmental documentation and daily reporting logs.
- Ensure reports are free from typographical and formatting errors before submission.
- Support front office and ultrasound technicians during peak patient hours, when required.
- Follow NABH, hospital quality standards, and documentation protocols.
- Perform any other administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Required Skills
- Excellent typing speed (minimum 40–50 WPM) with high accuracy.
- Good knowledge of medical terminology, especially radiology and ultrasound.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Hospital Information Systems (HIS/RIS).
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining report turnaround time (TAT).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient records.
Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline (preferred).
- Certification or experience in Medical Transcription or Medical Typing is desirable.
- Experience: 1–3 years in an ultrasound/radiology department or diagnostic center preferred.
Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
