We are seeking a POS Platform & Integration Engineer with 3–5+ years of experience to manage and support our on-premise restaurant technology ecosystem. You will be responsible for Linux server administration, local deployments, hardware integrations, payment gateway validation, network reliability, backups, and end-to-end system testing. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all software, hardware, and infrastructure components work seamlessly together to deliver stable and reliable restaurant operations.
Main responsibilities:
- Administer the Linux host OS on the back-office server: service management, security hardening, patching, startup/restart behavior, and local configuration.
- Set up and validate the on-site back-office server environment for the .NET API, PostgreSQL, Redis, Hangfire, Dockerized services, and local SignalR reliability.
- Support deployment scripts, local environment configuration, service startup order, rollback process, and release checklists.
- Validate P98 gateway/card reader behavior for online approvals, encrypted offline queueing, retry, and no-double-charge scenarios.
- Integrate and test Epson TM-m30 receipt printer, USB cash drawer, rugged Android tablets, and KDS devices in realistic restaurant workflows.
- Own nightly encrypted backup validation to on-site NAS/local corporate network, including restore testing.
- Support local network setup and troubleshooting for fixed IPs, firewall rules, VLAN considerations, SignalR connectivity, and device reliability.
- Coordinate UPS/graceful shutdown configuration for the on-site server where applicable.
- Run end-to-end technical testing from POS to API to PostgreSQL to KDS to receipt printer/payment gateway.
Required tech: Linux server administration, service management, security hardening, basic networking/LAN troubleshooting, Docker, PostgreSQL backup/restore, Redis/Hangfire familiarity, API testing with Postman, POS hardware integration, payment-device testing, printer/cash-drawer troubleshooting, Android device testing, UPS/graceful-shutdown configuration.
Why this role matters: This is the right replacement for Cloud/DevOps. Since the MVP runs on local infrastructure, this person makes sure the software, hardware, server, payments, backups, and network actually work together inside the restaurant.z
