The ideal candidate should be skilled in crochet and passionate about teaching children. They should be able to demonstrate techniques clearly and guide students step-by-step while encouraging creativity and independent thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and interactive online crochet classes for children.
- Introduce students to basic crochet tools, yarn types, stitches, and techniques.
- Teach fundamental stitches such as chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and other age-appropriate techniques.
- Guide students through simple crochet projects suitable for their skill level.
- Demonstrate techniques clearly through step-by-step instructions and visual demonstrations.
- Help students understand crochet patterns, counting stitches, and maintaining proper tension.
- Encourage students to experiment with colors, patterns, textures, and creative designs.
- Develop age-appropriate projects that keep children interested and motivated.
- Adapt teaching methods according to each student's age, experience, ability, and learning pace.
- Provide constructive feedback and patiently correct students' techniques.
- Encourage creativity, concentration, patience, and fine-motor skills through crochet activities.
- Track student progress and provide feedback to parents when required.
- Maintain a positive, supportive, and child-friendly online classroom environment.
- Follow SkillWing Academy's curriculum, teaching standards, and class procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong practical knowledge and experience in crochet.
- Previous experience teaching crochet, crafts, handicrafts, or creative skills is preferred.
- Experience working with children, preferably ages 4–14.
- Ability to clearly demonstrate crochet techniques and explain them in simple language.
- Patient, friendly, creative, and encouraging teaching approach.
- Good spoken English, particularly for communicating with international/NRI students.
- Comfortable conducting online classes using platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, or similar tools.
- Ability to prepare and demonstrate crochet projects during online sessions.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
