QA / QC Manager – Water Treatment Plants (WTP)Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions for Water Treatment Plant (WTP) projects, including water, wastewater, and sewage treatment facilities.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable Indian Standards (IS), ASME Codes, and British Standards (BS) relevant to WTP civil, mechanical, piping, and structural works.
- Prepare and implement Standard Quality Plans (SQP), Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection & Control Plans (ICP), and inspection/test formats in line with tender documents, client specifications, and applicable international codes.
- Review, evaluate, and approve vendor and subcontractor documents such as QAPs, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), material specifications, and testing procedures to ensure conformance with project and tender requirements.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Project Execution teams during QAP finalization to eliminate ambiguities and prevent disputes related to inspection, testing, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct vendor shop inspections for fabricated and manufactured items (mechanical equipment, piping, tanks, clarifiers, filters, structural steel, etc.) as per approved QAPs, GA drawings, datasheets, and test procedures, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
- Perform incoming material inspections at site and vendor works, including verification of chemical and mechanical test certificates as per ASME Section II Part A, ensuring proper material identification, traceability, and storage practices.
- Issue and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Compliance Reports, and Corrective/Preventive Action Reports (CAPA) based on inspection outcomes and follow them through closure.
- Prepare, review, and implement quality documentation related to WPS, WPQ, PQR, FQP, SOPs, and site quality protocols in accordance with client, consultant, and statutory requirements.
- Organize and conduct Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualification (WPQ/WQT) tests; review welding procedures and generate final qualification dossiers for client and third-party approvals.
- Coordinate and facilitate inspections by Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies, ensuring readiness of documentation, compliance, and timely clearances.
- Maintain and control all quality records and documentation at site, vendor works, and head office, ensuring proper certification, approval, and handover to clients/consultants.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of structural steel fabrication, piping systems, pressure/non-pressure equipment, tanks, and mechanical components typically used in WTP projects.
- Review, verify, and approve preheating and Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) charts for various carbon and alloy steel grades used in water treatment installations.
- Prepare and submit MIS reports, inspection visit reports, and quality status reports to the project team and management on a regular basis.
- Accurately read, interpret, and review engineering drawings, specifications, and BOQs related to WTP civil and mechanical works.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and inspection agencies.
- Maintain compliance with project-specific HSE and quality integration requirements at all execution stages.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering
- ASNT Level II Certification in:
- Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT)
- Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Proven experience in Water Treatment Plant (WTP) projects is mandatory.

- Proficiency in English and Hindi (spoken and written)
Pay: ₹20,132.60 - ₹70,532.10 per month
