Job Summary
We are looking for an Application Development Engineer to support the development, integration, testing, and commissioning of Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and automation systems. The candidate will work closely with Design, Electrical, PLC, Production, and Project teams to develop machine applications according to customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements and develop suitable SPM machine applications.
- Study machine concepts, process requirements, cycle time, and production requirements.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Design and Electrical/Automation teams for machine development.
- Support selection and integration of sensors, actuators, motors, drives, pneumatic and automation components.
- Develop and implement machine sequences and automation concepts.
- Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, motion control, and robot integration activities.
- Prepare application logic, sequence descriptions, and functional requirements.
- Support machine testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and support SAT (Site Acceptance Test) activities.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, and production trials at customer locations.
- Analyze machine performance and improve cycle time, reliability, and productivity.
- Troubleshoot application-related issues during machine operation.
- Coordinate with customers and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
- Prepare application documents, machine manuals, checklists, and technical reports.
- Ensure the developed machine application meets quality, safety, and customer requirements.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of SPM and Industrial Automation.
- Understanding of machine sequence and automation concepts.
- Knowledge of PLC / HMI / SCADA is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of sensors, pneumatic systems, motors, drives, and control components.
- Ability to read and understand Electrical and Mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD / electrical drawings is an added advantage.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of robotics, servo systems, or vision systems will be an added advantage.
Required Skills

- Ability to understand customer requirements.
- Willingness to travel for machine installation and commissioning.
- Ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.

Qualification
Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering field.
Experience: 0–5 Years in SPM, Machine Automation, Application Development, Machine Building, or Industrial Automation.
For Freshers – 0 to 1 Year
Freshers with good technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and interest in SPM Machine Development and Industrial Automation can apply. Training will be provided in machine applications, automation systems, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning.
