Production Supervisor – Rice Plant / Rice Mill Job Description (JD)
A Production Supervisor in a rice plant is responsible for managing daily milling operations, manpower, quality, production targets, safety, and equipment performance to ensure efficient rice production.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily rice milling operations (cleaning, dehusking, polishing, grading, sorting, packing).
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per shift and daily plans.
- Monitor rice quality, yield, moisture levels, and broken percentage.
- Manage operators, helpers, and contract labor on the shop floor.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Maintain production records, stock reports, and shift reports.
- Ensure safety, hygiene, and food-quality standards are followed.
- Monitor raw material (paddy) consumption and finished goods output.
- Train workers on SOPs and operational procedures.
- Implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce wastage.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of rice milling processes and machinery.
- Team handling and leadership skills.
- Production planning and reporting.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, ERP, production reports).
- Understanding of quality control and food safety standards.
Qualification
- Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Food Technology, or related field.
