About the Role:
GeoVista Technologies Pvt Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior GIS Technician – Telecom to support the planning, design, estimation, and implementation of telecom GIS projects across India. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in telecom network infrastructure, geospatial technologies, and fiber network planning. The role requires extensive field coordination, client interaction, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain GIS databases for telecom infrastructure projects.
- Perform GIS mapping, digitization, spatial data analysis, and quality validation.
- Support planning and design of OFC, GPON, FTTx, and telecom network projects.
- Prepare network estimations, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), route planning, and project documentation.
- Interpret engineering drawings, telecom layouts, and utility maps.
- Coordinate with survey, design, and project execution teams for timely project delivery.
- Conduct data validation, quality assurance, and compliance checks.
- Generate technical reports, GIS maps, and project deliverables.
- Travel extensively across India for site visits, field verification, client meetings, and project support.
- Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GIS, Geospatial Technologies, and Telecom Network Mapping.
- Hands-on experience in Telecom, OFC (Optical Fiber Cable), GPON, FTTx, and Fiber Network Planning.
- Experience in Estimation, BOQ preparation, Network Planning, and Route Design.
- Good understanding of telecom engineering standards and project execution.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD Map, or similar geospatial tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English for customer-facing interactions and project coordination.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project assignments.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Pan India.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Geomatics, Geography, GIS, Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Experience in telecom GIS, fiber network planning, or geospatial infrastructure projects.
- Candidates with experience working on Indian telecom projects will be preferred.
- Hands-on experience in BSNL BharatNet Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III projects will be a significant advantage.
- Experience working with telecom operators, EPC contractors, or geospatial consulting organizations is preferred.
