An Auto Body Mechanic is responsible for repairing, restoring, and refinishing vehicle bodies damaged by accidents, corrosion, or wear and tear. The role involves body repairs, panel replacement, frame alignment, welding, surface preparation, and painting to restore vehicles to manufacturer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect damaged vehicles and assess repair requirements.
- Repair or replace damaged body panels, bumpers, fenders, doors, and other components.
- Straighten vehicle frames and structural components using specialized equipment.
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication work.
- Remove dents, scratches, and other surface imperfections.
- Prepare surfaces for painting through sanding, masking, and priming.
- Apply paint and clear coat, ensuring color matching and quality finish.
- Reassemble vehicles after repairs and conduct quality inspections.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe work environment.
- Follow manufacturer repair procedures and safety standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ITI/Diploma in Automobile, Body Repair, or related field preferred.
- Experience in auto body repair and painting.
- Knowledge of welding, dent repair, frame alignment, and refinishing techniques.
- Ability to use body repair tools and measuring equipment.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Valid driving license preferred.
Experience:
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
